CENTRE FOR ADVANCES IN RELIABILITY AND SAFETY LIMITED
Centre for Advances in Reliability and Safety Limited (CAiRS), initiated by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, is established in 2020 with its operation located in the Hong Kong Science Park, New Territories, Hong Kong. The mission of CAiRS is to bridge academic and industrial counterparts to introduce and implement artificial intelligence methods and prognostic techniques to advance reliability and safety. The goal of the Centre is to improve reliability and safety of critical components and devices, products, systems and sub-systems designed, commissioned and/or manufactured by Hong Kong companies and enterprises. Research Intern (Ref. No.: CAiRS-RI/P1)
Duties
The appointee will report to the Programme Manager or delegates and perform the following on-the-job learning tasks in reliability and safety research project under RP1 titled “Anomaly Detection and Syndromic Surveillances.”
- Contribute to survey current/latest research publications and technology development in AI (particularly image analysis);
- Assist in image/anomaly data collection, analysis, and interpretation;
- Involve in developing the AI models and conduct experiments;
- Assist in drafting/writing proposals and analysis reports; and
- Other assigned research work.
Qualifications
Applicants should have/ be:
- currently pursuing/recently graduated with a degree in Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline;
- basic knowledge of data analysis. machine/deep learning applied research, python programming;
- well-organized, capable to work under pressure and able to handle multi-tasking assignments in a multidisciplinary team;
- excellent interpersonal skills; and
- good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, with proficiency in Putonghua being an advantage.
